On May 11, 2026, HOTCATT hosted a collaborative meeting with representatives from ABE Global Ltd, marking another step forward in strengthening Ghana’s hospitality and tourism training. The session brought together key stakeholders, including the Acting Director of HOTCATT, Dr. Eric Kofi Afornorpe, senior staff members, and the visiting ABE delegation.
The discussions centered on aligning HOTCATT’s programmes with internationally recognised ABE qualifications, enhancing certification pathways, and building institutional capacity to meet global standards. This collaboration reflects HOTCATT’s commitment to delivering quality training that equips learners with the skills needed to thrive in Ghana’s growing tourism sector.

During the meeting, Dr. Afornorpe highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, and the Deputy Minister, Hon. Yussif Issaka Jajah, whose leadership continues to drive improvements at HOTCATT. Their dedication to strengthening the institution was acknowledged as a vital force behind HOTCATT’s transformation into a center of excellence.
The partnership discussions reaffirmed HOTCATT’s role as Ghana’s premier training institution for hospitality and tourism, while underscoring the importance of international collaboration in advancing the Ghana Tourism Authority’s statutory mandate.

This meeting sets the stage for practical steps toward joint certification, staff development, and pilot programmes that will enhance the competence of Ghana’s tourism workforce and position HOTCATT as a hub for internationally benchmarked training.
