About

Welcome to HOTCATT

Welcome to the Hotel, Catering, and Tourism Training Institute (HOTCATT), established in 1991 to offer the tourism industry the best human resource development opportunities in performance standards, techniques, and internationally recognized knowledge in hospitality, catering, and tourism. This will enhance Ghana’s tourism product and ensure that Ghana remains a competitive tourism destination, thereby bringing substantial socio-economic growth and sustainable development.

As tourism gains traction in Ghana and contributes to becoming the third-to-fourth largest sector in the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), it becomes important to build various skills and professional competencies, with practical orientation, as well as resilient and robust services for sustainable development.

From the days when HOTCATT was almost solely responsible for providing training and orientation for Ghana Airways’ crews and air hostesses, as well as most hotels and government offices, to today, more than 20,000 professionals in government hotels and guesthouses, as well as a wide range of tour guides, have proudly passed through its corridors.

The Institute is rapidly transforming to meet current competition and demands by receiving accreditation for practical courses tied to the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, as well as critical programs from the UN-Tourism. Further, this will complement the Institute’s efforts to offer On-Demand and Short Courses to various levels of professionals in hotels, culinary arts, and tour guiding, while transitioning to offer advanced professional qualifications and certificates.

Positioning HOTCATT in the Hospitality and Tourism Sector and Industry remains a significant advantage for your services. Therefore, all candidates willing to undergo proficiency, competency, professional, and practical training and skills-building are warmly welcome.
