Currently serving as a French Instructor at HOTCATT in Accra, Ghana, since 2020, I focus on teaching French for Specific Objectives (FSO), with a particular emphasis on the hospitality and tourism sector. Using a blended learning approach, I integrate communication-based techniques to foster an interactive and engaging learning environment. Each lesson is carefully crafted to address the five language capabilities – reading, writing, listening, speaking, and interaction – while incorporating real-life scenarios relevant to the industry. Through discussions, role-plays, and other participative activities, I facilitate the practical application of French language skills, enabling students to effectively communicate in professional settings.
Prior to my current role, I gained valuable experience as a Private French Instructor from 2011 to 2020, providing personalized language instruction to individuals seeking to enhance their proficiency. Additionally, I served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Ghana Business School from 2010 to 2011, where I contributed to the French Outreach Program supported by the French Embassy.
My academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and French, as well as a Master of Philosophy in African Literature with a focus on French. I have also pursued continuous professional development through various certifications, including an Advanced Certificate in Front Office Operation and Food and Beverage from H.O.T.C.A.T.T and certificates in NGO management and PRINCE2.
In addition to my academic qualifications, I have gained practical experience in the hospitality industry, having worked in various hotels, including a prestigious 5-star establishment. This hands- on experience has enriched my understanding of the industry and allows me to provide valuable insights to my students.
Equipped with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for teaching, I am committed to empowering students with the language skills and cultural understanding necessary for success in the global hospitality and tourism industry.
Outside of my professional endeavors, I am an avid horse rider, reader, swimmer and chef, with a passion for exploring new cultures through travel and music. My diverse interests contribute to a well-rounded approach to life and learning.
