HOTCATT, Ghana’s premier institute for tourism and hospitality training, made history on 20th March 2025 by hosting the GHATOF Association Maiden Dialogue at the MESTI Conference Room, Accra. The event brought together trade association leaders, industry professionals, and distinguished guests, including the Deputy Minister and Chief Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts.

The dialogue served as a platform to highlight HOTCATT’s incredible journey since 1991, during which it has trained over 50,000 professionals, despite challenges. A.g Director Eric Kofi Afornorpe passionately emphasized this legacy, sharing insights into the institute’s resilience and commitment to excellence.

The event also spotlighted HOTCATT’s 5-Year Strategic Skill Development Plan (2025-2029), which Mr. Afornorpe described as a transformative roadmap to elevate practical training standards, boost employability, and introduce industry-relevant certifications in collaboration with public and private sector partners.
Attendees engaged in dynamic conversations about aligning international certification practices with Ghana’s needs, ensuring the continuous growth of the hospitality and tourism sector. With strong support from the Ministry and actionable outcomes, this dialogue marked a pivotal moment in professional training and certification development.
